Pride Youth Mentor: -I mentored young children, youth, and adults with special needs to achieve educational/life goals. YMCA Youth Leader -I was responsible for creating and implementing STEM-based activities that engaged all students while fostering the growth of positive relationships. YMCA Site Supervisor -I was responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, positive environment where children, families, and staff could learn and grow. Certification Growing Future Courses: -"Getting Started" -"Promoting Development: Mixed Ages" Technology Course: Fall 2017 Throughout this course I learned how to implement technology various forms of technology to drive student learning. Practicum Experiences Early Childhood YMCA: Infant/Toddler -Bismarck, ND Lewis & Clark: Preschool -Mandan, ND Miller Elementary School: Kindergarten: Bismarck, ND -Throughout this practicum experience, I planned and taught lessons that targeted different areas of development while implementing content to the age groups listed above. Elementary: Block I St. Joseph School: 3rd Grade- Mandan, ND -In Block I, I was able to put what I learned to practice by implementing three language arts lessons during both weeks in the classroom along with an art lesson. Elementary: Block II Lewis & Clark Elementary: 5th Grade- Mandan, ND -In Block II, I continued to grow as an educator by teaching a lesson in each of the six following areas: Social Studies, Science, Math, Language Arts, and Art. Special Education Northridge Elementary: Bismarck, ND -I taught lessons to students with a range of ability levels in Mrs. Mueller's resource room. I was also able to shadow an emotional disturbance paraprofessional within different schools. Emerging Leaders Academy Professional Mentor (BECEP) -My professional mentor was Mrs. Rebecca Parisien, a special education teacher at BECEP. I was able to meet with her and dive into behavior procedures, the evaluation process, and meeting with families during the IEP development. |
