Special Olympics -Volunteer -Coach -Partner -Youth Representative for Area 10 -Family of the Year -I have had a long history with the Special Olympics Organization. I began as a volunteer at the age of twelve in my hometown. I went on to coach basketball throughout high school. When I relocated to Bismarck to attend the University of Mary, I began coaching basketball for Bismark and partnering in volleyball. I was later asked to be a Youth Representative for the Area 10 Management Team. Last December, my family received the North Dakota Special Olympics Family of the Year award. Special Olympics Club at the University of Mary (SOCUM) Co-Founder/President -Two years ago, I met with the Special Olympics North Dakota staff. They asked me to start an SO College Club at the University of Mary to promote inclusion at the college level. After two years of hard work and involvement from other students, SOCUM was approved as an organization in April 2018.
Emerging Leadership Academy Led Student Council State Convention Workshops -"Be Yourself" -"High School Readiness" Day of Service Volunteered at Goodwill -I picked up trash around the facility and cleaned one of their vehicles. Volunteered at Open Doors Community Center -I painted a shed and cleaned toys within the daycare.
